Surviving the Holidays: In Person Adult Loss of Parent Support Group Downtown Amherst MA

Grief Candle Image.jpg

I am starting a grief support group for those experiencing the death of a parent to run through the upcoming holidays. And we are meeting IN PERSON at my office in downtown Amherst. This group is designed to offer you support and community at an especially hard time of the year.

  • Grief can bring up so much
  • Overwhelming feelings, Shut down, Anxiety, Disconnection, Shock, Feeling Stuck, Dread, Disbelief
  • You also may feel isolated and misunderstood by friends and family. "He's in a better place" or "it's time to move on" may be well meaning, but deep down you miss your parent and want them back!

Grief is meant to be experienced communally.

I have facilitated grief support groups for thirteen years to offer healing, connection, compassion, belonging and a safe space to be with a very human experience: Grieving a loss.

"Grief has always been communal, always been shared and consequently has traditionally been regarded as a sacred process. Too often in modern times our grief becomes private, carrying an invisible mantle of shame forcing our sorrow underground, hidden from the eyes that would offer healing."

Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow.
