Adult Grief Groups
I am now opening my peer based support groups using an online video platform. The coronavirus pandemic has made grief complicated. In some cases, there is not the opportunity to say goodbye in person or have the support offered by a gathering of friends and family.
I now have my loss of parent grief group open. And I hope to have a date when the group will start soon. I would love to hear from you if you are interested. Please call me at 512-333-4820.
Have you lost a loved one and feel overwhelmed with grief, disbelief and feeling isolated? Are you having trouble finding support from family and friends and feel misunderstood? Grief does not need to be done alone. You can find belonging and connection in a bereavement support group.
Who: For adults who have experienced the loss of a parent (the loss can be recent or more in the past). Each group is a closed (and intimate) group for up to six (6) members.
When: Wednesdays from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm for eight consecutive weeks (dates to be determined).
Cost: $40 per session. Group members are responsible for each session whether attended or missed.
Reserve your spot today. Call or email Dean Janeff to register at 512-333-4820 or email@example.com.
What can you expect?
- A safe and confidential place to connect with supportive and accepting peers.
- Ways to manage (coping skills) overwhelm, restlessness, shock, disbelief, guilt, isolation and hopelessness.
- Various themes to lead discussion such as guilt/regret, spirituality, family and role changes, accepting help, self-care, and asking for what you need.
- Space to be with your grief with understanding and validation. There is healing and bonding when you sit with those experiencing a similar loss.
I am now in the process of interviewing prospective members. Reserve your spot today by calling me (512-333-4820) or by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"I found the group very beneficial- hearing from and sharing with the group members was even more helpful than I anticipated. I would recommend this group and would consider participating again. Dean is a strong facilitator." Sarah in Austin.
