Adult Grief Groups
Announcing two grief support groups Summer 2018!
Have you recently lost someone close to you and feel overwhelmed with grief, disbelief and sadness? Are you having trouble finding support from family and friends and feel isolated and misunderstood? Does it feel like it is too much? Grief does not need to be done alone. A bereavement support group is one of the best things you can give to yourself when grieving.
I am excited to offer two grief groups during the Summer. One is for loss of partner or spouse. And the other group is for loss of parent.
What can you expect?
- A safe and confidential place to connect with supportive and accepting peers.
- Ways to manage (coping skills) overwhelm, restlessness, shock, disbelief, guilt, isolation and hopelessness.
- Various themes to lead discussion such as guilt/regret, spirituality, family and role changes, accepting help, self-care, and asking for what you need.
- Space to be with your grief with understanding and validation. There is healing and bonding when you sit with those experiencing a similar loss.

Dean Janeff is a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in South Austin specializing in grief, trauma recovery and couples counseling. He has led grief and loss groups over the years after his training at Hospice Austin.
